Sliding into the 2022 Seasons
To kick off our softball season, we asked head coach, Larry Hunt, to share a few words about the upcoming season. Our returning seniors are Marissa Spieker, Maddie Holtz, Mady McKee, Mallory Behnken, and Helen Riker. Our returning first team All-Conference player is Mallory Behnken and our second team players are Emma Follmann and Helen Riker. The first practice was held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. The first game will be played on May 23, 2022 at Vail vs. Ar-We-Va, and the second game will be played the following evening at Southwest Valley.
With our baseball season upon us, we visited with the assistant coach, Drew Ticknor, about this upcoming season. With school ending soon, games are approaching fast. The first baseball practice was May 3, with the first game played on May 16, against Bedford. When Coach Ticknor was asked about his thoughts of this season he said, “I am looking forward to winning the conference and advancing to the State Tournament. We are very excited for this baseball season. We have a lot of guys who have played a lot of baseball and are looking for big things this summer.”
