Honor Squad

Honor Squad

The CAM Cheerleading team had three of their cheerleaders be chosen to be on the honor squad. The honor squad is a team built from 90 school districts with up to 250 cheerleaders. Mrs. LaPorte was allowed to choose from the senior and junior cheerleaders. Abby Follmann, Jenna Wheatley, and Maddie Holtz were chosen to be on this team because of their abilities as cheerleaders and their dedication to cheer. The three girls signed up for stunting, but because we made it to the finals for football they were not able to do stunting. Mrs. LaPorte took them to an eight-hour practice on November 14th at Ames High School. All the cheerleaders there were split into stunting, dance, and tumbling sections. All three girls were in the dance section but Jenna and Maddie also signed up for tumbling as well. They would have performed during halftime for the Championship games on November 18th at 4 pm and 7 pm, but because of the CAM Cougar Football team winning the State title, they decided to come back home with the football boys and celebrate the big win.
