CAM Horticulture Visits Jack Trice

CAM Horticulture Visits Jack Trice

On October 6th, the CAM Horticulture class visited three different departments of the ISU Horticulture program. The class started at the school’s Research Horticulture Farm. As a result of last year’s storms, there have been many new structures built on the farm. The students learned about turfgrass and saw Jack Trice stadium’s new turf for next year. They were also able to see apple and grape production in Iowa. The class finished off the tour with Iowa grown Honeycrisp apples. The class then visited ISU’s new state-of-the-art greenhouse technology, where many experiments are conducted. The students finished off the day at Jack Trice stadium where they learned about how extensive the management of a major college stadium is. It was a very successful day and the students learned a lot!
