Red-Hot Cougars Are Playoff Ready

Monday, February 10th, the Cougars traveled to Paton-Churdan to take on the Rockets for their final away game of the year. The Cougars were down by one at the end of the first quarter, but then dominated the other three quarters to come out on top 73-37. The leading scorers for the Cougars were Jacob Holste with 17, followed by Ethan Arp with 13, Cade Ticknor with a career high 10, and Nate Hensley and Ben Tibken each with nine. The leading rebounders for the Cougars were Hensley and Connor McKee each with nine, and Holste with eight. 

    The Cougars were back at home Friday against the Nodaway Valley Wolverines for their last regular season game. They were down seven going into the fourth quarter, but came back to win 59-58. This is the Cougars’ eighth straight win. Leading the charge were Lane Spieker with 14 points and five assists, McKee with 14 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, and Holste with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists. McKee scored the go-ahead basket with six seconds left. The first round of playoffs is Thursday, February 20th, at home against Earlham. Good luck, Cougars!!
