Tuesday, January 21st, the Cougars took on the Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders. They were close the whole game, but unfortunately lost this one 44-49. The top scorers were Nate Hensley with ten, and Lane Spieker with nine. Colby Rich also had a career high ten rebounds. The Cougars then traveled to Guthrie Center on Thursday to take on the AC/GC Chargers. Thursday’s game would be the start of five straight away games. They went back and forth the entire game, but after going into overtime, the Cougars again fell short losing 66-72. They were led by Jacob Holste with a season-high 17 points and Ethan Arp with 13. They also had five players with four or more rebounds, and seven players with at least two assists. The very next day, they traveled to Westside to take on the Ar-We-Va Rockets. The Cougars fell down 14-23 after the first quarter but they came back to win this one 55-48. They had three players in double figures, led by Holste with 15 points and nine rebounds, Arp with 11, and Connor McKee with 10. Hensley also grabbed eleven important rebounds. The Cougars next two games are Tuesday at Glidden and Thursday at Stanton. Good luck Cougars!
