Cougar Standout Hits 1,000 Points

On Friday, February 2nd, the Cougars faced off against Glidden Ralston for the second time this season looking for their fourth straight victory. Nick Holste entered the game 27 points away from 1,000 in his career and came within eight of the mark.

            Thomas Hensley continues to lead his Cougars to victory as the Cougars take the win over the Wildcats 65-54. Thomas Hensley scored 21 points for the Cougars. Nick Holste scored 19 on the night.

            On Saturday, February 3rd, the Cougars traveled to Coon Rapids for a stellar matchup against the Crusaders. Nick Holste scored 10 points on the night to reach the 1,000 point mark with 1,002 total points.

            Thomas Hensley hit three, three-pointers in the first to keep the Cougars within one, down 17-18 after the first quarter.

            The Cougars battled back as they scored eight straight points including two Nick Holste free throws to make 999 and 1,000 career points moving the Cougars within three down, 42-45. A Thomas Hensley steal hyped up the team and crowd as he took it back to score two more points. A deep inbounds pass ended up with a Crusader turnover with 0.9 seconds left on the clock. Thomas Hensley received the deep inbounds pass for the Cougars, but with 0.9 seconds left, Hensley couldn’t have done any better as he got his shot up, but unfortunately missed for the second Cougar loss at the buzzer this season. Thomas Hensley scored 21 points and took six steals, while Nick Holste scored 10 points along with 10 rebounds for a double-double.
