Cougars Defeat Villisca in Opener, Will Host Stanton Friday for Parents Night

The Cougars used a 22 point first quarter to run away from Villisca 52 - 7 Friday night in the season opener for both teams.  

The Cougars were lead by Ian Hunt who threw 12 passes completing 10 for 104 yards and one touchdown pass to Tanner Runyan. Tanner Runyan had 92  yards and a touchdown on 7 catches. 

On the ground the Cougars were lead by Sawyer Hansen had 10 carries for 64 yards and two touchdowns on the night. following Hansen in rushing yards was Dylan Amdor with 55 yards on 4 carries and one touchdown and Ethan Miller with 40 yards on 8 carries and one touchdown.

Defensively the Cougars dominated the Blue Jays by holding them under 100 yards for the game.  The defense was sparked by a blocked punt for a touchdown by Trevor Cavin and a fumble recovery by Donavvan Smith. Leading the way with 5 tackles were Trevor and Jarrad Cavin, Logan Dinkla, Devan Amdor, Matthew Williamson, and Tanner Runyan. 

This Friday night the Cougars host the Stanton Vikings.  It is also Parents Night.  Parents are asked to start meeting at the north end of the track at 6:30.  The CAM Grid Iron Club is also hosting a grill out before the game.
