Tuesday, February 4th, the Cougars traveled to Woodbine to take on the Tigers. They came out on top, winning this one 44-38. They were led by Jacob Holste with ten points and seven rebounds, with Lane Spieker also adding ten points. This is the last of their five straight road games. In those games, they posted a respectable 4-1 record. They were finally back at home Thursday, as they took on the Audubon Wheelers. The Cougars snuck away with a win, coming out on top, 52-48. They were led by Ethan Arp and Connor McKee who scored 16 and 15, respectively. Holste also added nine points and a career high ten rebounds. Friday, the Exira-EHK Spartans came to town for the annual Pink-Out game, as well as Senior Recognition night. The Cougars won 73-53, and the game had multiple stars. The leading scorer was McKee, who dropped a career high and team season-high 24 points. He also shot an almost perfect 11-12 from the floor. Spieker added 14 points with four three-pointers, and Arp also added 12. Finally, senior Mason Chester scored his first career varsity points on a three pointer. This week the Cougars will travel to Paton-Churdan, Monday, to take on the Rockets. Then they’ll battle the Nodaway Valley Wolverine’s at home Friday, for their final game of the regular season. Good luck, Cougars!!
