MINUTES

Special Meeting

CAM Board of Education

Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 8:00 a.m.

 

The CAM Community School District Board of Education held a special meeting on July 31, 2018 in the media center at the CAM High School in Anita. Present were Directors Gary Dinkla, Chuck Kinzie, and Julie Williamson, Superintendent Casey Berlau, Principals Brian Fogleman and Dominic Giegerich, and Secretary Lindsay Jahde.

 

 President Gary Dinkla read the mission statement, called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m., and welcomed the visitors. 

 

Julie Williamson made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Chuck Kinzie.  Motion passes on a

3-0 voice vote.  A motion was made by Chuck Kinzie, seconded by Julie Williamson to approve the bills as presented.  Motion passes on a 3-0 voice vote.

   

CONTRACTS:  A contract to Dawn Daily, Middle School Special Education teacher, was approved on a motion by Chuck Kinzie, seconded by Julie Williamson, and carried on a 3-0 voice vote.  A contract to Rachel Hill, North Elementary Third Grade teacher was approved on a motion by Julie Williamson, seconded by Chuck Kinzie, and carried on a 3-0 voice vote.  A contract to Sadie Fredericksen, 4 hour Cook at the South building was approved on motion by Chuck Kinzie, seconded by Julie Williamson and carried on a 3-0 voice vote.  A contract to Amanda Wheatley, Special Education Para, 7.5 hours, 5 days per week at the South building was approved on motion by Julie Williamson, seconded by Chuck Kinzie and carried on a 3-0 voice vote.  A contract to Bridget Clayton, Cook, 7.5 hours at the South building was approved on motion by Chuck Kinze, seconded by Julie Williamson and carried on a 3-0 voice vote.     

 

FACILITY PROJECTS:  Superintendent Casey Berlau presented a proposal from Western Specialty Contractors for the necessary repairs to the south building, replacing the damaged brick.  He asked that the board review the proposal.  Deterioration to the joints in the gym walls has started and a consultant has been contacted to come up with a course of action for the repair.  Other discussion included an update to the boiler and door projects, both have already been approved and the contractors will move forward. 

 

ADJOURNMENT:   The meeting was adjourned at 8:12 a.m. on a motion by Julie Williamson and seconded by Chuck Kinzie.  Motion carried unanimously on a voice vote 3-0.
