CouGALS End Hard Fought Season

    On Tuesday, February 13th, the Cougars faced off against the Stanton Viqueens for the second round of regionals. The girls took down the Viqueens 76-42. The Cougars were off to a quick start in the first quarter leading 27-9. This game was the second time the team has had 76 points. The first time was against AC-GC and it was highest score they have had this season. Madison Gettler scored 25 points for the night and got her 1,000-career point. Gettler was 24 points away for 1,000 going into the game and achieved that in the third quarter. The junior also had four rebounds, seven assists, and seven steals. Paige McAfee was another leader with 24 points, four assists, and three steals. Sammi Jahde and Zoey Baylor also both contributed with points each putting up nine. Macy Ticknor lead for rebounds having seven and added three points.

    On Friday, February 16th, the team battled conference foe Exira-EHK in a matchup to see who moves onto sub state finals. The girls fought hard but ending up losing to the Spartans 49-63. The CouGALS end their season with a record of 19-5. We are proud of how hard you’ve worked this past season!
