Cougars Bounce Back After Tough Loss

    On Tuesday, January 23rd, the team hosted the annual Pink Out Night vs rival Exira-EHK. The Cougars lost in a hard fight against the Spartans 66-45. Madison Gettler was the leader in points by a landslide, having 19. Gettler also had 10 rebounds and four steals. Macy Ticknor was second in points with nine and had 11 rebounds. Other contributors for points were Paige McAfee with seven, Zoey Baylor, shooting five, and Sammi Jahde, scoring three. Everyone on the bench contributed in some way as they all got to get some experience.

    On Thursday, January 25th, the Cougars traveled to Stuart to face the West Central Valley Wildcats. The ladies came out with a 57-38 win, redeeming themselves after a tough loss against the Spartans. In the points category, Gettler had 19, McAfee shot 18, Ticknor put up 10, and Jahde contributed eight. Gettler also took the rebound category with nine and McAfee was second with eight. The three juniors also tied in assists each having four which includes Ticknor, McAfee, and Gettler. The girls are now 13-4 with only four games left in regular season play. The girls open up regionals here in Anita on February 8th against Griswold.
