Southwest Iowa Honor Choir

On January 18, 2018, a group of CAM vocalists traveled to the Iowa Western Community College Campus to participate in the Southwest Iowa Honor Choir. Josie Williamson, Madelyn Lund, Anna Stork, Isabel Kinzie, Mariah Murphy, Andrew Holste, Taymen Brawdy, and Eric Vogl were selected for this honor choir by the CAM Vocal Director, Cindy Nichols. The group was able to sing a variety of songs which consisted of: "The May Night" by Johannes Brahms, "Be Thou My Vision" arr. by Dan Forrest, "O My Luve's Like a Red, Red Rose" by James Mulholland, "Highland Mary" by James Mulholland, and "Khumbaya" arr. by Kurt Runstead. Each piece brought a different emotion to the concert. The concert ended with an arrangement of "Khumbaya" that had people tapping their feet along to the song and made for a very energetic song to end on.

Not only did the vocalists perform, they were able to watch the opening of the concert, which was a performance by the Iowa Western Show Choir directed by Mr. Luke Johnson. Many were impressed with the group's vocals and ability to dance. Overall the experience of the choir was something that none of the participants will forget.
