2012 Rolling Hills Conference High School Art Fair

April 22, 2012

The Rolling Hills Conference Art Fair was held on April 16th and 17th. On Monday, four students (Sammi Baker, Adam Claussen, Ian Hunt, & Angeline Larson) accompanied me to Adair- Casey High School to help set-up the art show. That afternoon, a panel of three judges judged the artwork giving them rankings of 1st through 5th, as well as honorable mentions. On Tuesday, I took 25 students to the art fair where they participated in daylong events including demonstrations, competitions, the awards ceremony, and of course viewing the art exhibits. The demonstrations consisted of an oil painter, a photographer, a wheel thrown potter, and a tattoo artist. There was a lot of interest in the tattoo artist, I even found it to be very interesting and asked a lot of questions. Yeah, I know, it’s shocking to learn that Ms. Artherholt doesn’t have any tattoos! The day concluded with taking down the art show and packing it all up on the bus to head home. After a long day, we were all glad we weren’t too far away.
