Whaletown adds "Wilderness Race" to annual celebration
5 miles and 1.5 mile race featured through park "wilderness"

Whaletown Wilderness Race Saturday, August 7th- 2010 at the Lake Anita State Park. Check in is from 7:00 a.m. – 73:0 a.m. at the Beach, Race begins at 8:00am. Fee is $25 by July 30 and $30 after that – including day of race. There will be a 5-mile course and 1.5-mile run or walk course.
The Anita Run/Walk Club would like to invite you to the first annual Whaletown Wilderness Race to be held at Lake Anita State Park. Our race will be a 5 mile course that will take participants on both park trails and also on a off-road journey to get to the finish line.
We have also included a 1.5 mile course for runners & walkers- both begin at the beach.
Money raised will be split between paving and extending the trail system at the lake and giving to the Health & Wellness Center to purchase new equipment and help fund the youth activities offered there.
