3rd Grade Paper Mache Easter Eggs

by Lisa Artherholt

May 18, 2010

Shortly before Easter, the Anita Elementary 3rd grade art students made Easter eggs out of paper mache.  I think we got a bad batch of balloons because they kept popping. The poor art teacher blew up about 35 balloons for a class of 20! Meanwhile, the paper mache paste splattered everywhere each time a balloon burst. Of course the kids loved getting messy and splattered with the gooey, sticky paste!

Once they were dry we painted them to look like Easter eggs. The students really enjoyed the messy project. The art teacher was a little less enthusiastic about the mess! ☺
