Budget Hearing / Certification Meeting
Anita Board of Education
Thursday, April 8, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
The Anita Board of Education was called to order by President Randall J. Rabe for the budget hearing/certification session on April 8, 2010 at 6:34 p.m. in the media center at the high school. Members present for opening were Jeff Gregersen, Chuck Kinzie, Nick Kauffman, Randall Rabe, and Julie Williamson. Also present were Superintendent John Brazell, Secondary Principal Dominic Giegerich and Secretary Linda Edwards. There were five visitors present.
AGENDA CHANGES: No changes were made to the agenda.
APPROVE AGENDA: A motion was given by Director Gregersen that was seconded by Director Williamson to approve the agenda. Voice vote, motion carried 5-0.
2010-2011 BUDGET HEARING AND CERTIFICATION: The board reviewed and discussed the proposed 2010-2011 budget. The board answered questions regarding the income surtax levy and discussed different scenarios regarding the cash reserve levy. The board then moved forward with certifying the budget as published. A motion came from Director Kinzie and a second from Director Gregersen to approve the 2010-2011 budget. The motion carried with a 5-0 vote.
ADJOURNMENT: President Rabe declared the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
