Congratulations to the CAM speakers who participated at Walnut Hill on Saturday. We had 10 schools attending with over 140 entries. Trophies were won by: Sawyer H – 2nd Place – Improv; 3rd Place: Angela A – Acting, Erin S – OO and Emily M – Reviewing. Several students made finals including: Tanner R, Mariah M, Makaye S, Churck A, Michaela S, Hannah A and Kassidy H. Overall winner was Ankeny High School with 97 points followed close behind by Logan-Magnolia, Lewis Central, Interstate 35, Abraham Lincoln and CAM Juniors in 6th place. Other schools attending were: Lenox, Earlham, Adair-Casey and Audubon.
A note of interest . . . . the Earlham speech coach remembered coming to one of the first Walnut Hill Tournaments when it was held at the old high school located on “Walnut” Street (hence the name!). Does anyone remember the first year this was held?
Next Saturday thirteen speakers will travel to the new Glenwood High School to perform in 17 different entries at the State Contest. Good luck!
