Defense dominated the 2nd half, but Tanner Runyan found a seam and dribbled to the middle of the lane as time was running down, rose up and buried a shot with :06 left. Carson Smith's half-court attempt fell short and the CAM boys had a major upset winning 32-30 on Elk Horn-Kimballton's home floor.
Next up is Boyer Valley, Thursday 7p.m. at Missouri Valley.
Points were hard to come by as the physical play yielded many shots missed at the rim and even blood on the court. Smith ran into a teammate a couple minutes into the fourth and stopped the contest for 15 minutes.
The game now forces district administrators to move parent-teacher conferences which were scheduled for Thursday from 4:30-8:30 p.m.
"We have many staff members involved with the team, either as a parent or coach," Dominic Giegerich, High School Principal said. "When we set these up last year we had no information that two district games would be scheduled so close together."
Parent teacher conferences will be rescheduled for Thursday March 4.
Thursday February 25 will now be a regular school day with dismissal at 3:30. February 26 will still be the comp. day. (no school for staff or students)
Thursday March 4 classes will dismiss at 2:30. Conferences will be held from 4:30 to 8:30.
High School Vocal Pre-Contest Recital will also be rescheduled to March 4 during conferences.
