On Saturday February 6 part of the CAM speech team traveled to Ankeny High School to participate in the Iowa High School Speech Association State Speech Contest. Three groups earned their way to the state contest by receiving a I rating at the district level two weeks ago.
Gage R and Tyler E earned straight I’s by their three judge panel after they entertained a full room with their draw “A bank robber and the teller is their mother” in Group Improv. Cassidy C, Erin C and Angela A once again performed their Ensemble Acting “Secrets of Success” where they played the money hungry business “men” of Gumble, Gamble and Gimble. Their efforts gained them two I's and a II for an overall I-rating. Our third entry for the day included Caitlin P, Alex M and Michaela S who performed “Starlets in Training” . . . three young women hoping to gain a spot on their favorite soap opera. Their three judges gave them a I and two II's for an overall II-rating.
These students should be very proud of their accomplishments . . . (and some made it back just in time to change into cheerleading and basketball uniforms).
Congratulations!
