CAM's 08-09 ISEA Design-A-Decal Contest Winners

During the 2008-2009 school year, I had my Anita High School, Anita Elementary, and Massena Elementary students enter the ISEA sticker contest for the first time. The stickers are supposed to promote an upbeat positive message such as “Way to Go” or “Good Job”. I encourage them to limit their wording to three or less words and one picture. The winning stickers are given to teachers to hand out to students or put on student papers. This contest is open to students grades K-12 in Iowa. There were 400 entries and 24 winning stickers. CAM students took FOUR of those 24 winning positions! Some additional fun facts are that there were 16 secondary age winners and 8 elementary age winners. CAM elementary students won 4 of those 8 elementary positions…that’s 50%! Anyway, suffice it to say, we did very well. On September 9th, our student winners, the parents, and myself will travel to Clarinda to attend an awards dinner where they will receive plaques for themselves and also plaques for the schools.
Here’s a list of our winners with a brief description of their sticker.
Kydie Woolsey of Anita Elementary - “A+” and a pencil.
Marcus Daugherty of Massena Elementary – “Home Run” and a baseball.
Levi Lank of Massena Elementary – “Out of this World” and a martian.
Mariah Murphy of Anita Elementary – “Flutterific” and a butterfly.
