Anita Elementary Painted Ceiling Tiles
by Lisa Artherholt
September 25, 2009
During the 2008-2009 school year, Anita Elementary art students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th were commissioned to paint ceiling tiles for Atlantic Chiropractor Fritz Baier. Dr. Baier wanted to jazz up the ceiling in his office so he asked me if my students would be interested in the project. Of course they were super excited to participate. I chose well-known places, buildings, and things in Atlantic since his office is in Atlantic. The students worked in groups and painted half of a ceiling tile. We ended up painting 18 images on nine tiles. Dr. Baier was very impressed with the ceiling tiles and gave the students pizza parties. You can stop in to his Atlantic office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to view them.
“Virtually every patient has commented about how nice they are and that the kids did a great job!” ~ Dr. Baier.
