Cougars Outlast East Mills 44-42 in OT

The Cougars football squad traveled to Hastings on Friday to battle with a very good East Mills team. The Cougars started off a little slow but eventually got on track. Alex stork rushed for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. He also added one catch for 15 yards. Luke Symonds added 54 yards on 16 carries with 5 receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. Jaxson Armstrong was 7 of 14 for 100 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He also added 76 rushing yards on 10 attempts.
Defensively, Trevor Cavin led the team in tackles with 13 tackles. Armstrong wrapped up 12 tackles. Dayton Amdor and Donavvon Smith both added 10 tackles. And Luke Symonds and Tanner Runyan added in 9 tackles a piece. Armstrong also had two interceptions for 99 return yards and a touchdown.
The Cougars will travel to Walnut to take on the Warriors this Friday, to open district play. Kickoff is at 7 o'clock.
