8th Grade PreAlgebra

A majority of the 8th grade students are taking PreAlgebra this year.  We use the Saxon Algebra 1/2  textbooks.  Students are tested every four lessons.  Each lesson is followed by an assignment, called a Problem Set.  Students are usually assigned the even problems, with odd numbers being extra credit.  The answers to the odd problems are in the back of the textbook, so students can check their work to be sure they are doing the problems correctly.  Work must be shown on all extra credit problems.

Tests are worth 40% of the grade and assignments are 60%.  The extra credit problems account for an additional 5% on top of the tests and assignments.

Please remember to check your child's grades on the JMC website.  A link is available on my homepage or on the CAM Cougars homepage.  If you have any concerns email me.
