District Golf showing sends Boys team, Coach Jackson, to State golf meet
Team ties Treynor as Kopp and Armstrong lead strong team performance

“Golfers can qualify as a team or individually,” said CAM’s Athletic Director Mr. Hunt.
Jaxson Armstrong, Shay Kaufmann, Nick Kopp, Luke Symonds, Brett Stakey, and Taylor Hunt are the six golfers from CAM High School golfers to go to State golf in Livermore, Iowa. This event is held on Friday 28th and Saturday the 29th of May. This is the 1A golf state meet. Golfing at Spring Valley Course.
Bishop Garrigan, CAM-Anita, East Buchanan-Winthrop, Grundy Center, Lisbon, Newman Catholic, Newell-Fonda and Treynor are the school teams that will be participating in this event.
Independent School Participants include: Adair-Casey, AHST-Avoca, Don Bosco-Giblerville, HLV-Victor, North Iowa-Buffalo Center, Northern University High, Prince of Peace Prep, SE Webster-Grand, and West Bend Mallard.
At Districts CAM-Anita and Treynor had swung Co-championship, first place. Adair-Casey swung third, AHST swung fourth, Corning took fifth along with SE Webster, Boyer Valley had swung seventh place, East Mills ended with eighth place, Wayne-Corydon had took 10th place, and least but not last was Moravia.
Meadlist winner was Nolan Schmidt from AHST, Runner-up was Taylor Wheatley from Adair-Casey, Third place was Ron Skoglund from Sew and fourth place was Jaxson Armstrong with Nick Kopp following.
A special goodbye goes to Coach Bob Jaxson who’s retiring after coaching Cougar golf for 26 years.
